Our journey, vision, and commitment to aquatic accessibility
Metalu is a team of professionals committed to pool accessibility since 1997. We have a unique specialization in the country and stand out for manufacturing the most complete range of pool lifts on the market.
A project is born. Metalu A1, the first manual model designed to facilitate water access.
Brothers Manuel and Juan Escalera found Manufacturas Metálicas Luisianeras S.L. – METALU with the intention of providing a solution for people with reduced mobility who have difficulty accessing swimming pools.
We developed the hydraulic Metalu B-2, the longest-running pool lift in our current catalogue. A timeless classic.
We participate in Discap Sevilla, a crucial opportunity to engage with users and associations for people with disabilities, giving us a more real understanding of their needs.
New needs emerge as the hotel sector demands a more compact, portable, and discreet pool lift. Metalu PK is launched, becoming our best seller.
First international sale. Metalu pool lifts reach Brazil.
Addressing new demands, we design the battery-operated lifts Metalu 400 and Metalu 600, making us the only national manufacturer of this type of pool lift to date.
Our constant drive for innovation leads us to the Gama 3000, providing a solution for all types of swimming pools. Also, the only national manufacturer to date. (CTA: Explore our full range of innovative pool accessibility solutions).
Step by step, we gain presence in the international market, reaching countries such as Portugal, France, Poland, Peru, Uruguay, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Italy, among others.
The time for the Escalera brothers’ retirement arrives, as they pass the baton to the second generation. A team that has been part of the management for years and continues with the same commitment: to keep fighting for accessibility in swimming pools.
We expand accessibility to other settings such as beaches, lakes, and boats with the creation of Metalu Pantalán, installed for the first time on Lake Zurich (Switzerland).
Today, the project continues with new ideas, the same commitment, and the enthusiasm to keep working so that access to water is a right within everyone’s reach.
